Castle Hills Business Alliance wants everyone to be able to use the Castle Hills Business Alliance Directory, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
What we do
- Every feature works with a keyboard. Press / to jump to search, Esc to close a business panel, and use Tab to move between items.
- A "Skip to the directory" link is available at the top of each page.
- Text and buttons use high-contrast colors, in both light and dark mode.
- Animations are turned off for people whose device is set to reduce motion.
- Business details open in a panel that announces itself to screen readers and returns focus when closed.
- The full business list is also available as plain text, without JavaScript.
Known limits
Business names, categories and descriptions come from an outside list and may contain errors. Links to other websites lead to pages we do not control.
